The Hourglass, in the Zuidas banking and business district, is a striking mixed-used construction project in the heart of Amsterdam. The elegant swaying silhouette of the building is modeled on a hourglass and is considered to be the namesake of the 19-story high-rise. The design for this comes from the architectural office Dam & Partners Architecten. With an almost iconic architecture - inspired by Brancusi's geometric works of art - and a natural stone facade, a building that is both timeless and contemporary was designed. The economical use of materials is giving the Hourglass a classic and international appearance.
The Hourglass is a differently used construction project with modern offices, an elegant hotel, first-class restaurants and bars as well as many shopping opportunities. Our long-term partner MATUDE SL took care of the interior design, which is well worth seeing.
The staircases and wall cladding between the levels were acoustically effective. Our sound-absorbing elements are elegantly presented here. Our subtle and almost invisible micro-perforation "finest" was chosen for this project. The surface finish in European (smoked) oak looks high-quality and creates a warm and natural feeling of space despite the large floor space and high ceilings.
Furthermore, our products are taken into account in various applications in interior design in order to implement an integrated and suitable room concept.
