Theme world "Education" - acoustics school buildings
Room acoustics is a central topic in educational institutions and an important aspect when planning interiors.
The Gustav-Heinemann-Gesamtschule in Essen-Schonnebeck was completed as a new building in 2021 and is an ideal example of the implementation of acoustically effective interior design.
Over 600 m² of slimline acoustic panels in a 16/3 grid were installed in corridors and the entrance area. As wall and ceiling absorbers, the elements ensure optimized sound with less sound reflection. The interplay of the materials used, glass, concrete and wood, appears harmonious and balanced. The veneer surface of the acoustic panels in European oak enhances the interior concept and creates a warm atmosphere.
From the outside, the bright clinker forms a massive masonry facade. Large window elements are distributed in a strict order over the 4-storey parts of the building and reveal a clear architectural structure.
