This optical phenomenon, known as the moiré effect, is successfully counteracted by our stripes slit pattern with its interesting and irregular slits.
Wall and ceiling panelling in the stripes slit pattern has a particularly calming and harmonious effect on the eye. This product is a good alternative to linear slits, especially in corridors and narrow rooms.
The moiré effect in detail
The moiré effect occurs when two regular grid structures that are slightly shifted or superimposed on each other create a visual pattern that is not present in the original images. This effect can occur in printed images, screens or other displays that use halftone patterns.
When two rasters of similar frequency and orientation are superimposed, they can create interference that appears as visible patterns. These patterns are called moiré patterns. The moiré effect can be distracting and often occurs when trying to capture or display fine lines or patterns, especially in photography, printing or screen displays. Minimising this effect often requires special techniques such as anti-aliasing or changes in print screening.
